Our goal is for you to spend less time with us and more time doing what you love. Don’t get us wrong, we love treating our clients and helping you move better, it’s just that we measure our success by how often we see you passing us on the trails or paddling on the lake, as opposed to visits in our clinic.

We've listed a few tips below to help you prepare for your first visit.
You can also read over our FAQs section for more information.

Prior to your visit, complete a client registration form online, OR download a printable version to bring along on the day of your visit.

Also bring the following:
  1. Copies of any previous scans or reports related to the problem

  2. A progress letter, if seen previously treated for the problem

  3. A list of all current medications and doses (even if it is not related to the problem)

  4. A list of any allergies (if known)

Bring along comfortable clothing, such as shorts and a tank top, that would allow us to easily access the area being treated. If required, you can make use of our changing facilities prior to your consultation.

Your first visit will take about 45 minutes. Your therapist will perform a comprehensive assessment, discussing any concerns or questions you may have. You will also receive your first treatment during the session.

If you'd like to cancel your appointment, please notify us 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment in order to allow other patients to fill your spot. Frequent last-minute cancellations or no-shows will be discharged by the therapist.

Check out the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions below. If there’s something you still need to know or an answer isn’t detailed enough, please get in touch for more information. Our friendly Support Team will be happy to help.

Do I need a referral from a Doctor?

Unless you were involved in an accident, a doctor's referral is not a requirement as physiotherapy is classified as a direct medical profession in Canada. However, some insurance providers require a doctor's referral to allow you to claim any expenses – please contact your insurance provider to check if you're unsure.

What type of treatments do you offer?

We offer treatment options for orthopedic as well as neurological problems, such as:

  • Lower back pain

  • Neck pain

  • Thoracic spine pain

  • Sacroiliac joint dysfuntion

  • Whiplash

  • Sports injuries (ligament strain, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, bursitis, joint fixations, subluxations, runners knee and muscle strains/tears)

  • Post fracture

  • Post orthopedic surgery rehabilitation

  • Arthritic conditions (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing and spondylitis)

To see our full list of services, refer to the Services page.

How long do I have to wait to get an appointment?

We always try our best to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. To ensure a convenient time slot, make sure to book well in advance. Give us a call or use our online booking system to book your slot today!

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend on your unique circumstances, such as the type and severity of the injury. Many clients however start noticing positive results within 1 - 3 sessions.

Do you communicate with my doctor or health team?

With client consent, we communicate all relevant findings and progress with the client's medical staff or health team.

Will my information remain confidential?

Your privacy is important to us. Client information is treated confidentially and protected by the Practice Standards for Physical Therapists in British Columbia as well as the Privacy Information and Protection Act.

Does the Government pay for physiotherapy at FLO?

Due to limited government funding for out-patient physiotherapy, only selected individuals will be able to access funding. To find out if you qualify, contact your local hospital or visit the BC Ministry of Health website to find your local health authority.

Do you have free on-site parking?

Yes, we have two designated parking spots for FLO clients on the South side of the parking lot. There is also metered parking right outside the front door on Ellis Street.
